Kakadu Software is pleased to announce the release of the upcoming Version 7 SpeedPack software for Beta Testing (Vs7-Beta). The Beta test software incorporates many of the upcoming changes to be realeased in Kakadu Version 7  not only for the SpeedPack but also the SDK software. 

This Beta test is open to all current commercial SDK licence holders who currently hold a licence to the SpeedPack software (either commercial or evaluation).

New functionality includes

•  More efficient multi-threading improving performance and scaling with multiple CPU cores

• Improvements in the core block coding/decoding engine overall improving speed

• inclusion of many of the new features which will be available in the Version 7 Kakadu SDK (e.g. better JPIP support, JPX files, metadata browsing, broadcast profiles and lossless on-the-fly geometric rotation)

• other experimental features such as JPIP over UDP for trial

Kakadu Software is pleased to announce a new class of licence for use by public institutions. This licence allows multiple non-commercial users to work with the software across an institution. Additionally it is now possible for a public institution to charge a fee for services without requiring a full commercial licence.
